A Brief History of Velux Blinds

In 1941 Villum Kann Rasmussen, aware of the national shortage of living space in his homeland in Denmark, realized there was an opportunity to develop attic space into cheap living accommodation and he developed a roof window to let natural light in, and VELUX was born. However, the first Velux roof window ever made was installed in a Danish school.

The name Velux comes from the words Ventilation and Lux, the last word being Latin for light. You may find the best velux blinds through the internet.

Nearly seventy years later the company has developed into a leading international roof window manufacturer and the word Velux has become a general term for roof windows, and Velux curtains have become as famous as the windows themselves.

The company now not only provides solutions for the obvious difficulties of roof lights but also offers different shapes and sizes for windows that allow architects to make positive design statements on various projects.

It has long been known that natural light has positive psychological and health benefits and the concepts of space and light have well-documented energy-saving benefits.

In America, research has shown that exposure to spectrum light produces better moods, increased presence in the workplace, dental health, and increased levels of concentration, and Velux roof windows have contributed to the well-being of many people's daily lives.

Although Velux provides a variety of standard roof windows and skylights, along with solutions for flat roofs, etc., the company is still famous for its sloping roof windows and blinds.
