Paris is not only known as one of the most beautiful and romantic cities of the world it also has some of the most famous historical sites, buildings and monuments. It is a city known for the excitement, intrigue and drama. Below are some of the most popular historical sites that can be found here:

1. Sainte Chapelle

When crown of thrones was not shifted to Notre Dame Cathedral, King Louis IX constructed a special building for this special relic. This beautiful building was named Sainte Chapelle or as the “Holy Chapel”. Tourists from all corners of the world come to see the delicate and extraordinary beautiful chandeliers and stained glass windows of this building.

2. Place de la Concorde

This is one of the most popular historical sites of the French revolution. This is the same plaza where famous leaders like Marie Antoinette, King Louis XVI and many leaders were decapitated by Guillotine. They have used a tablet to show the exact locations where each execution took place. This palace is also home to Luxor Obelisk which was presented by the viceroy of Egypt.  It was given in 1833.

3. Arc de Triomphe

This monument was made by Napoleon after he won a battle of Austerlitz in 1806. This monument was built to honor and remember the French soldiers similar to many memorials for Anzacs on the western front. This is engraved with pictures and words that describe the French army’s victories and triumphs.
